Gainey

William R. Gainey, son of Riley and Jamina Gainey, was born August 8th, 1846, and departed this life July 5, 1925, aged sevety-eight years, ten months and twenty-seven days.

He was united in marriage to Cecelia O’Donald about 1871, and to this union were born four children: Riley O., Charles W., deceased, Nettie F. and Samuel C. His wife departed this life March 22, 1881.

He was again marriend to Janette J. Roberts in 1883, and to this union were born nine children: Wm. G., Anna, Thurman, Fannie, Norman, Josephine, Katherine, Nelle and Victoria. All except Victoria, who died in infancy, are left with the mother to mourn his departure.

All of these were at his bedside when the end came, except Anna, who is in New York.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church at Scotland, internment in the Scotland Cemetery. We desire to thank our neighbors and friends for their kindness during the sickness and death of our dear husband and father.
